For most human beings “FREEDOM” is the state of being at liberty, the power to act, speak, or think as one wants, without hindrance or restraint.

The Hawaiian word “Kū’oko’a” also refers to independence, the exemption from external control, our ability to stand powerfully without fear.

The greatest gift that we can give ourselves is FREEDOM within, unrestrained by our minds. This FREEDOM is not contingent on favorable external circumstances. Freedom is an inner awareness, it is the choice not be held hostage by our own beliefs, worries and doubts.

This piece of art is a reminder that FREEDOM is in every moment, not in the future,

not in the past, but right now!

True FREEDOM enables us to accept what is, without the need to identify it as either, good and bad. It is seeing things as they are, and not being attached to our own judgments.

FREEDOM is the truth that resides in all of us, it is who we are. It is the "I am" that is within everyone, the source from which all creation springs.

The Enso (circle) is the emblem of Zen Buddhism.

It is a circle that is hand-drawn in one uninhibited brushstroke to express a moment, when the mind is free to let the body create.

Belying its simplicity is a rich history of meaning.

The Enso symbolizes enlightenment, strength, elegance, and the universe. It is also an icon of infinity and represents the infinite void, the ‘no-thing,’ the perfect meditative state.

It speaks to beginnings that give way to endings, and endings, which give way to beginnings.
